Glass is probably the most suited material for Christmas ornaments. By blowing, spinning and reheating a skillful glassblower can shape a piece of batch into almost any desired form. Glass may be painted with delicate gelatine colors, or be silvered inside to achieve a very special gloss, reflecting a thousand fold the light of the candles. Though glass is very fragile it is in some way also exceedingly precious, worthy to decorate the most beautiful tree in the course of the year.

Antique glass ornaments that were used for the Christmas tree stem in most cases from German Lauscha or Czech Gablonz. For more information about a special class of glass ornaments visit the Kugels division.
