Tree Toppers |
Still 18 days … | |
PreambleHide | A Christmas tree without a crowning tree topper is not a real Christmas tree. It attracts the eye and has to be lavishly formed, therefore. In the beginnings it was mostly a golden shining star, in allusion to the Star of Bethlehem, or a paper angel, remembering the angel who brought the merry message to the shepherds. The Gablonz tree top stars, made from wire and glass beads, are especially splendorous. Most known and common are the glass tree toppers which look somewhat like a Prussian spiked helmet or an Austrian imperial roof; a more luxurious type includes tinsel and small bells for a richer decoration. |
